Top 6 Foiled Paper Products

One of Fall’s biggest and hottest stationery trends is foiled paper products and cards.

While foiling has been around since the early 1900’s, designers are currently finding new and creative ways to use it to make their products really shine.

Today, I’m sharing some of my fave foiled paper products.

But first, a little history if you’re unfamiliar with what exactly foiling is.

The most basic explanation is that foil stamping is somewhat similar to letterpress, in that the design is applied with pressure to seal a layer of foil.

The attention to detail, and ultimately what creates such a beautiful product, is that each foil color is individually applied. This means there are multiple runs through a press to create the final product – foiling is a labor of love that’s for sure.

Here at Pretty by Post®, one of the things I am most proud of, and that sets us apart from other card subscriptions, is that I include a letterpressed or foiled (or unique in some way) card … because we are all about quality and craftsmanship.

You won’t find many big box stores that carry letterpress or foiled cards, or cards that use 90-110 lb quality paper or that are designed and handcrafted by indie designers. I take great pride in curating the bi-monthly collections (and quarterly stationery boxes) and I hope our products are a reflection of that.
