A subscriber emailed me with a great question that I want to share today. If one person asks, I bet there are others with the same question, who are too shy to speak up.
Q: “I don’t know how to use the dark envelopes – how do I make my address show up?”
Great question, right?
The subscriber is referring to the black envelope that was included as an extra goodie in the October collection. You can still get yours as a single purchase, but without the extra goodie, unfortunately.
My go to pens/markers for black and other colored envelopes are white gel pens, because the white really pops, as well as metallic gel pens or metallic sharpies.
For the gel pens – most pen nerds/crafters agree – the two best white ones are the Sakura Glaze and the Sanford Uni-ball pen. I got the Sanford at my local Paper Source).
I also recommend the Sharpie permanent markers. They make a set with 3 markers in metallic silver, gold and bronze that look so beautiful on black. The black and gold combo is having a major moment right now, so you’ll be right in line with the trends too.
I purchased the Sharpies at my local Target, but I’m sure you can get them at most similar retail locations and of course on Amazon.
I hope that you’ve found this post helpful. If you have any questions please email me at [email protected] and you may find your question the subject of a blog post.
What pens/markers are your faves (not just for addressing envelopes but for everyday use)?
