I’m so excited for today’s blog post for two big reasons. The first is that my dear friend Nancy, who has contributed some excellent DIY guest posts in the past, will be a regular monthly contributor. Holla! I couldn’t be happier because her posts are the best. Don’t believe me? Then keep reading this post and make sure to check out these previous posts here, here or here.
The second reason is that today’s post is about gorgeous yet simple winter gift wrap. Something that my simplifying and less is more holiday approach loves. And Nancy’s gift wrap, tags and garnish photos are stunning.
Please share your gift wrap with us on IG by tagging @prettybypost and @everydaynaseeha (don’t forget to use the hashtags #fierceloyalty and #sendcardsspreadlove so we can find you!)

Brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things! ❤
Seriously, I have had a love affair with this quiet, understated and yes, I’ll just say it . . . CHEAP, gift wrapping staple! The hard to resist . . . brown paper bag!
It’s one of my favorite crafts to do. It works for any season, but I think it’s particularly beautiful for winter. The nature-y embellishments can be found right in your own backyard.
The rest of the garnish ingredients needed for this packaging perfection are as follows:
- All kinds of string
- A glue gun
- Bells
- Washi tape
- Glitter
- Fake snow spray
- And of course, the brown paper wrapping!
I used a roll of parcel paper. You can pick some up at the supermarket or even the dollar store. You could also use grocery bags or your kid’s lunch sacks.
You could be super simple and just use string or you can fancy it up with glitter and fake snow! But no matter how you decorate your “brown paper package”, the recipient of it will find it sweet and charming indeed!
So get creative and save a bit if money while you’re at it! Oh, and this is a perfect project to do with kids, they LOVE it! I’m already thinking of trying some out with lace, doilies and paper flowers, but that will have to wait for another blog post!
xoxoxo
